Integrating faculty and resources from Clark’s departments of Biology and Chemistry, the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program prepares students to enter an exciting and ever-expanding scientific field. Learn about the molecular basis of complex cellular processes and conduct research aimed at improving human health, designing new drugs and treatments, or understanding how life evolved.
Welcome to the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program
Academic Programs
Undergraduate Programs
We offer a major or minor in biochemistry and molecular biology that is highly structured. You will take courses in biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and more.
Accelerated B.A./M.S. Program
Apply for Clark’s accelerated B.A./M.S. degree program in biochemistry and molecular biology, with the fifth year tuition-free.
Research
Students and faculty conduct research in molecular modeling, protein chemistry, cell division, enzymology, signal transduction, molecular evolution, computational genomics, and gene expression.
Careers in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Many of our undergraduate and master’s alumni pursue graduate or medical school or find jobs right out of college. Our doctoral program prepares students for positions in academia or scientific leadership in industry.
Biology Seminars
The Biology Department hosts seminars on Wednesday afternoons in the Lasry Center for Biosciences. The updated seminar schedule can be found on the Biology Department home page.
